Virtus Solis to Speak at the Space Solar Power Symposium in Washington, D.C.

Virtus Solis will participate in the Space Solar Power Symposium at Experience POWER 2026 on Wednesday, 30 September, at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, D.C.

Produced by the Space Frontier Foundation, the half-day symposium will bring space solar companies into direct discussion with utility, grid, data center and energy industry leaders. The program will examine the economics, reliability, financing, regulatory requirements and technical milestones needed to make space-based solar power part of future energy planning.

Virtus Solis founder and CEO John Bucknell will speak during the opening session, Turn On Space Solar Power, scheduled from 8:00 to 9:20 a.m. ET. John will join energy and space industry leaders for a practical discussion about the role space solar can play in delivering firm, dispatchable power at scale.

Demand for reliable, clean electricity is accelerating, particularly from AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. Terrestrial grids are struggling to add new generation and transmission capacity quickly enough. Virtus Solis is developing an orbital solar platform designed to deliver continuous power through radio-frequency transmission to receiving stations on Earth, without relying on local weather conditions or congested long-distance transmission networks.

The symposium will give Virtus Solis an opportunity to discuss this model directly with the utilities, energy buyers, infrastructure developers and policymakers responsible for planning the next generation of power supply.
